- Connect the ECU by USB and read/save a backup of the current map before changing anything.
- Open the DD84-delivered map and verify engine setup, fuel, injectors, ignition, input/output assignments and sensor calibrations.
- If drive-by-wire is used, complete the FuelTech pedal/TPS calibration procedure before starting.
- Write the confirmed map to the ECU using FTManager.
- Verify all critical sensors and outputs before cranking.
- Start the engine, inspect fuel pressure/wideband data and perform datalog verification before load or high-RPM operation.
Compatibility note: current FuelTech documentation lists FTManager for FT600/FT550/FT500/FT500LITE/FT450, while FT500 and FT500LITE are limited to older FTManager versions. DD84 verifies the required software path before delivery.
